Who I am
Kia ora, I’m Astha.
I’m a Registered Social Worker, Professional Supervisor, and Yoga and Healing Coach. For more than ten years I’ve worked alongside people in crisis, through stress, hardship, and the seasons where life and career lose their shape. First on the frontline, then as a practice manager walking beside other professionals through the same fire.
My practice spans family violence, child welfare, women’s and men’s support, and community work, alongside Māori, Pacific, Asian, migrant, refugee, and European communities. Cultural responsiveness isn’t an add-on in my work; it’s the ground it stands on.
I also know the dark sky from the inside. My own life has asked extraordinary things of me, and healing through them is exactly why Aurora exists. I came to Aotearoa New Zealand from India in 2011, built a home, a career, and a business here, and learned that rising is not a solo act. If I can do it, so can you.
I work in a mana-enhancing way: every session protects your dignity, honours your story, and builds on strengths you already carry. I thrive when my clients thrive. That isn’t a slogan; it’s the whole reason this practice has my name on it.
- Mana-enhancing practice
- Strengths-based practice
- Reflective practice
- Lived experience of healing
- Two homelands, one heart
- Non-judgemental, always
Off the mat you’ll find me dancing, travelling, or planning the next adventure.
