What to expect

Space to think about the work.

The helping professions ask a great deal of the people in them. Professional supervision is where you put the weight down for an hour: a safe, confidential, reflective space to explore your practice, untangle complex situations, and look after the person doing the work.

My supervision is grounded in reflective practice, strengths-based approaches, and mana-enhancing principles. Together we work through ethical decisions, difficult cases, team dynamics, burnout, and career direction, so your practice stays safe, accountable, and sustainable, and so you keep growing rather than just coping.

I supervise both registered and unregistered practitioners, and I understand the realities of frontline work from the inside: a decade in social work and practice management, across family violence, child welfare, women’s and men’s support, and community practice, alongside Māori, Pacific, Asian, migrant, refugee, and European communities.

Who I supervise

If you carry other people’s hard days, this is for you.

  • Social workers
  • Counsellors & therapists
  • Health practitioners
  • Police & first responders
  • Family violence practitioners
  • Child protection professionals
  • Community & NGO kaimahi
  • Team leaders & practice managers

Registered or unregistered, brand new to the field or twenty years in. If your work is holding people through their hardest seasons, you deserve a place where someone holds yours.

For organisations

External supervision for your team.

I partner with NGOs, community organisations, and health and social services across Auckland to provide external one-to-one and group supervision, with straightforward invoicing and a genuine understanding of frontline pressure from my years as a practice manager. Group supervision and staff wellbeing packages are quoted by team size.

Good to know

Questions supervisees ask.

Is supervision confidential?

Yes. What we discuss stays between us, within the usual professional limits. I’ll walk you through exactly what those limits are in our first session, so there are no surprises.

Does this meet my professional requirements?

Regular supervision is a professional expectation for many registered roles in Aotearoa. Sessions are structured and documented in a way that supports you to evidence your reflective practice; your professional body sets the specific requirements, and we can shape our work to match them.

How often would we meet?

Most practitioners meet fortnightly or monthly, and higher-intensity roles sometimes prefer weekly. We agree a rhythm in the first session and adjust as your work changes.

What if we’re not the right fit?

The introductory kōrero is free precisely so you can feel this out with no obligation. Supervision only works with the right relationship, and I’d rather help you find the right supervisor than be the wrong one.
